What is Mindfulness?

“Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way; on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally.” Jon Kabat-Zinn, Founder Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction
Mindfulness is a way of being that is learned and cultivated through practice. Mindfulness involves increasing awareness of thought and action. Mental awareness of one’s present thoughts, body sensations, emotions, and environment enable conscious consideration of one’s responses to stimulus.
At Mindful Impact we teach, promote, and support mindfulness for adults and children, in business and school, for the purpose of stress reduction, improved health, increased effectiveness and productivity, and enhanced satisfaction with work and life.

We believe that
all organizations, including large and small corporations, schools, non-profits, government agencies, and sports teams, can benefit from mindfulness-practicing employees, students, athletes or members.
The world’s population is facing many challenges: economic downturn, increased levels of stress, corruption, poverty, and environmental degradation. It is our conviction that the awareness resulting from a mindfulness practice has the capacity to create greater equilibrium and well-being for all individuals.

We will customize
our programs for
your needs. We teach mindfulness for stress reduction and wellness through multi-week courses, daily or hourly seminars and keynote public speaking.
We have curriculum for individuals and teams in corporations, government agencies, non-profits, schools, athletics, and other organizations.
What makes Mindful Impact unique?
Mindful Impact serves both ends of the economic spectrum. Our principals have worked in corporate environments, inner-city communities, and athletics. Across these lines, the extraordinary discovery is that the same tool (delivered differently) is effective for a CEO of a Fortune 500 company, a youth leader, a school principal, an athlete or a young child.

The income generated from corporations and private entities helps support projects for under-served and under-funded organizations and schools. Populations we serve include corporate executives, administrators, and staff, attorneys, educators and students, athletes, under-served youth, low-income seniors, and families. Empowerment is an important aspect of our work. In addition to teaching mindfulness, one of our goals is to train members of the community to teach mindfulness. This practice will spread mindfulness widely, ensuring the sustainability of the work and its benefits.
